The way to change the build configuration is under a pop-up menu at the top left of the active window, names for your project: "More Practice > My Mac 64-bit"

Clicking the left side allows you to "Edit Scheme..." It was set to Debug. The other choice was release. Clicking the right half of the pop-up ("My Mac...) shows no other choices.

In the window that came up, there were many more schemes than debug, including "Build," "Run," "Test," Profile," Analyze," and "Archive." "Profile" was named "Profile More Practice," with the name of my project appended as a suffix to the button, as was "Run."


"Run More Practice" was the active Scheme as far as I could tell.


Could you let us know a little more what these "schemes" are and what they do?
